Alberto Mizrahi at B’nai Moshe, Detroit

In a unique display of “mentschlichkeit,” Congregation B’nai Moshe of West Bloomfield, MI honored one of its own by hosting a celebration of his ordination from the H. L. Miller Cantorial School – Jewish Theological Seminary.   Zach Mondrow was joined by his teacher and friend, Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi, and other local colleagues in a wide-ranging program of Jewish music in front of an SRO audience in the sanctuary where he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah.   Mizrahi sang a combination of Hazzanut, Yiddish and Ladino songs, bringing the audience to their feet with Bensoussan’s “Lecha Dodi.”
